Las Vegas still proudly wears the crown as the world’s top wedding destination, and if you’re dreaming of a romantic getaway to tie the knot in The City of Lights, getting a marriage license there is easy-peasy.
So relax, and let us walk you through it.
Here is some basic information first as noted by the Clark County Marriage License Bureau:
You cannot get married in Vegas unless you are at least 18 years of age.
The requirements apply whether you are a U.S. citizen or non-U.S. citizen, regardless of gender.
A Las Vegas marriage license will cost you $77. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, credit card, cashier’s check, money order or traveler’s check.
If you are a U.S. citizen and have been issued a social security number, you must provide it. If you have not been provided a U.S. social security number, you will leave this field blank.
Now, here is the fun stuff:
1. Fill out the pre-application online.
By filling out the pre-application online, you will save precious time and head to the express line. Remember that this is a legal document, so make sure your form is error-free and spelling is correct.
2. Both of you need to be present at the courthouse to receive your marriage license.
The Clark County Courthouse is open from 8 to midnight, seven days a week, all-year-round and even on holidays. If you have any questions, you can call the marriage bureau at (702) 671-0600.
3. Bring with you a legal form of identification.
This can include one of these: a valid driver’s license, a U.S. or foreign country issued I.D. card that has your photo and birthdate on it, a military I.D., passport or resident alien card.
4. After you receive your marriage license, bring the 8 x 12 envelope to your marriage officiant.
You need to provide your minister with the proper paperwork in order to get legally married.
5. The best news of all, no blood test or waiting period is required.
Your Clark County marriage license is good for one year before it expires.
